The Twisted Oaks Pointe Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on July 25, 2022 by the City Commission of the City of Wildwood, Sumter County, Florida, Ordinance 02022-57 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The Twisted Oaks Pointe CDD encompasses an area of approximately 339.289 acres entirely within the city of Wildwood, Sumter County Florida. The land within the District is generally located north of County Road 44A, south of East County Road 462, east of I-75, and west of North U.S. Highway 301 (N. Main Street). The Twisted Oaks CDD expects to plan establish, acquire, construct or reconstruct, enlarge or extend, equip, operate, and maintain additional systems and facilities.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
